Solar Junkies is an industrial metal band from Ravensburg . The band describes their style as Industrial Sludge Metal , a mixture of Industrial Metal and characteristics of Sludge , as they already played Godflesh .
history
In 1991 Alexander Waldner and Heiko Dodek founded the band Solar Junkies in the Allgäu . In 1992 they met the singer Paulo Martins and a year later the guitarist Frank Stasi. After a few appearances and demo recordings, Alexander Waldner left the band. In 1996 they released their first album under the name Silent War With Quiet Weapons on the German indie label bluNoise Records . Two years later the band broke up.
In 2006 Alexander Waldner and Heiko Dodek brought the band back to life and in 2010 recorded the second album by the band Secrets of Dark Contemplation , also on bluNoise Records. In 2011 the remix album Sequences of dark Contemplation was released for the band's 25th anniversary . a. Contains remixes by Mick Harris / Scorn, Sielwolf or Slowly We Bleed.
