Soldano Custom Amplification is an American electrical engineering company specializing in amplifiers and their accessories. The company was founded in 1986 by Michael J. Soldano, Jr in Los Angeles , California and moved to Soldano's home town of Seattle, Washington shortly after it was founded .

information

Michael J. Soldano, Jr. bought a copy of the Fender Bassman at the age of 21 and learned primarily how to repair amplifiers because he could not afford to have the amplifier repaired himself. His first prototype amplifier called "Mr. Science ”he finished at the end of 1980. With some cash saved, Soldano purchased a Mesa Boogie Mark II and began designing his own amplifier with the mocked Mesa Boogie sound. This tone is still the one that defines a Soldano SLO-100 , the most famous Soldano amplifier. Within six months, Soldano sold seven of his SLO-100 amplifiers to Howard Leese , Steve Lukather , Michael Landau , Vivian Campbell , Aldo Nova , John Fogerty and Lou Reed . Eric Clapton and Mark Knopfler bought the amplifier models in 1987. Soldano also manufactured the Soldano / Cornish Guitar Routing System for Clapton .
