Soleil Zeuhl is a French independent label from Paris that specializes in re-releases and new releases of Zeuhl albums.
history
Soleil Zeuhl is the spiritual successor to the but very short-lived Utopia label, which was created in the mid-1970s and wanted to offer bands in the Magma tradition a platform. Alain Lebon founded Soleil Zeuhl as an association, i.e. as a non-profit organization . The first release in December 1998 was the self-titled debut album by Archaïa from 1977, which is considered a rarity. Later, in addition to re-releases of popular genre classics, new releases followed. With Soleil de Gaïa, Soleil Groove and Soleil Mutant, there are three sub-labels through which albums appear that are more likely to be assigned to psychedelic rock , jazz rock or rock in opposition .
