Shub-Niggurath (also Shub Niggurath ) was a French experimental Zeuhl band founded in 1983 and named after a deity of the Cthulhu myth .
Band history
The band initially recorded a demo , followed by their debut album on Musea the following year . Shub-Niggurath received positive reviews for their somber style, influenced by Zeuhl and AvantProg . They then contributed to some samplers such as: B. to Museas Enneade as an homage to Magma .
In the late 1980s, Coulaud, Fromy and Stewart left the band; Michel Kervinio, Edward Perraud , Sylvette Claudet and temporarily Jean-Pierre Lourdeau joined them. After a live album and another studio album, Ballaud died in 1995, which meant the end of the band. A few years later, Musea and Soleil Zeuhl brought even older recordings onto the market.
