Solid (Fürth)

Solid is the " Sol arenergie I nformation and D emonstrationszentrum" in Fürth. Solid is the first solar center in Germany to provide information and demonstration systems to show how solar cells work.

Solid opened in February 1991. The founders were the cities of Nuremberg , Fürth , Erlangen , Schwabach as well as the IHK Nuremberg and the HWK Middle Franconia, supported by the Bavarian Ministry of Economics and the Federal Ministry of Research and Technology .

Since then, the nationwide densest network of installation and trading companies for environmentally friendly energy and energy saving systems has emerged in the vicinity.

In the course of the restructuring, the non-profit center will be closed in its current form at the end of 2009. Solid will continue to exist, but from 2010 there will be a new, decentralized structure.
