Nigrosine

The nigrosines are a group of blue-black dyes that belong to the diaminophenazine compounds and to the anionic dyes .

Manufacturing

Nigrosine are obtained by heating nitrobenzene , aniline and aniline hydrochloride with metallic iron and iron (III) chloride . The exact composition or the structures of the dyes are unknown.

use

Nigrosine is used for dyeing and printing wool , for dyeing silks, leather, shoe creams, varnishes, plastics, stoving enamels , writing inks, stamp inks and as microscopic dyes.
