Song Dan

Song Dan ( Chinese宋 丹; born July 5, 1990 in Wenjiang , Sichuan Province ) is a Chinese javelin thrower and Olympic participant. With a height of 1.73 m, she has a competition weight of 75 kg.

Career

At the age of 12, she attended the Sichuan Province Athlete School . Since then she has also been part of the provincial team there. She achieved her first successes in 2006 and 2007 when she took a medal rank at the national javelin throwing championships. In 2007 she first won gold at the National Intercity Games . In the same year she won her first international title in a Sino-Japanese-Korean competition.

She took part in the 2008 Olympic Games , where she did not reach the final with a width of 54.32 m. She set her personal best in March 2008 when she reached a distance of 60.68 meters in Chengdu .
