Sonia Morales

Sonia Morales is a Peruvian folklore singer who mainly devotes herself to the huayno with harp accompaniment . She grew up in Musho (district) Musho in the Áncash region and went to the capital Lima after finishing primary school . There she was discovered in a talent competition and became part of the folklore group "Las Chicas Mañaneras". When this dissolves, Sonia Morales begins her own career, which has made her the most famous huayno interpreter at the moment, mainly in rural areas, and throughout Peru since 2004. With dozens of original compositions and reinterpretations of traditional tunes, Sonia Morales finally goes on tour through several Andean countries, Europe and the USA.
