The Ochil Hills [ ˈoʊxɨl ], also Ochils for short , are a range of hills in Scotland . It extends over a length of 35 km in an east-west direction over the administrative districts of Stirling , Clackmannanshire and Perth and Kinross . The Ochil Hills run parallel to the northern Grampians a few kilometers north of the River Forth and delimit its plain to the north. The Hillfoots Villages , which are connected to the traffic network by the A91, are lined up along its southern flank from Blairlogie near Yetts of Muckhart . With the A823, only one major road crosses the Ochils. The M90 runs along the eastern flank.

The in Devon Ochils formed are of volcanic origin and are mainly composed of andesite . The southern flanks of the approximately 19 km wide ridge rise steeply and formatively beyond the plain of Clackmannanshire, while the north-facing slopes drop significantly more flat. The highest peaks are located with the 721 m high Ben Cleuch near Tillicoultry and the 418 m high Dumyat near Blairlogie on the southwest side.
