The sonic.art saxophone quartet was a chamber music ensemble. It was founded in 2005 by Ruth Velten, Martin Posegga, Anne Herrnkind and Annegret Schmiedl. In October 2005, Alexander Doroshkevich took up the alto saxophone position. With the line-up of Ruth Velten (soprano saxophone), Alexander Doroshkevich (alto saxophone), Martin Posegga (tenor saxophone) and Annegret Schmiedl (baritone saxophone), the ensemble has made a name for itself with highly endowed prizes and awards at national and international competitions. It was awarded the 1st prize and the Grand Prix of the International Chamber Music Competition for Contemporary Music in Krakow, the prize of the German Music Competition. In 2012 Adrian Tully joined the ensemble on tenor saxophone for Martin Posegga.
