Sonja Kato-Mailath-Pokorny
Sonja Kato-Mailath-Pokorny (born January 14, 1972 in Vienna ) is an Austrian event moderator and business coach.
Professional background
At the beginning of the 1990s, Sonja Kato worked as a freelancer for Ö3 and the SPÖ's Federal Press Service . Between 1995 and 1997 she was an editor in the press office of the SPÖ Vienna. From 1997 she worked as the press officer for the Minister of Women's and Consumer Protection, Barbara Prammer, and in 2000 she moved to the Press and Information Service of the City of Vienna as an editor and was press officer to the Vienna City Councilor and later Deputy Mayor Renate Brauner . From 2001 to 2007 she was managing director of the Vienna women's communication and event center ega.
From 2001 to 2010 she represented the SPÖ in the Vienna state parliament and local council . In 2005 she completed a university course to become a certified event manager. From 2005 to 2018, Sonja Kato was a board member of the Wiener Frauenhäuser Association, since its foundation in 2006 a board member of the WomensCooperation International and since 2008 a board member of the Vienna Jewish Vocational Training Center, JBBZ. In 2007 she completed her studies in history with a master's degree.
From 2009–2011, Kato worked for the Austrian private television company ProSieben / Sat.1-Austria, most recently she was in charge of communications. Since October 2011 she has been the owner of the agency she founded unikato-communications & coaching.
In 2014 Kato completed the multi-part training of the Coaching Academy Switzerland to become a systemic coach and a systemic business coach based on the St. Gallen model . In 2015 she founded the Wiener Damenwiesn, a ladies-only networking and charity meeting of around 200 women from business, industry, media and culture. She has been the Vienna Pink Ribbon Ambassador since 2017.

Sonja Kato has been married to MUK Rector and former politician Andreas Mailath-Pokorny since 2004 and has two sons (born in 2002 and 2005).
