Sonja Kilbertus

Sonja Kilbertus (* 1981 in Wels , vmsl. Kulkarni) is an Austrian producer , production manager and author as well as founder and managing director of Evolution Film UG.

Life

Sonja Kilbertus studied film production, image technology and camera at the Vienna Film Academy from 2002 to 2017 . During this time she was responsible as a producer for numerous (short) documentaries and feature films. Her graduation film The great luck so to speak (2008) was u. a. shown at the Max-Ophüls-Preis film festival. From 2009 to 2011 she worked as a producer on behalf of devifilm to the cinema documentary luck formulas and produced by Evolution Film several corporate films . In 2012 she was a producer at FechnerMEDIA and in 2013 at fischerappelt in Stuttgart.

Sonja Kilbertus has been a producer for Evolution Film in Munich since 2011, and in 2015 Evolution Film was transformed from a sole proprietorship into an entrepreneurial company. In 2011, she won 1st prize in the BR-Telepool Treatment competition for her treatment in Im Spiege der Pferde . 2012–2014 she co-produced the feature documentary Match me! For Evolution Film . with BR and Arte , which premiered at DOK Leipzig in 2014 and was shown at international festivals such as in Sheffield as well as in German cinemas.

Since 2015 Sonja Kilbertus has also been working in Switzerland, 2015–2016 for RECK Filmproduktion Zürich, 2016–2019 for DokLab GmbH Bern as a producer.

In 2016 she completed the Sources2 mentor training as well as the further education Docunexion (DocsMX, Mexico / DOK.fest Munich ), in 2017 she took part in the one-year Documentary Campus Masterschool.

Since 2016 she has been developing the documentary Las Hermanas de Rocinante with Evolution Film , which premiered in 2019 in the international competition of DOK.fest Munich .
