Sonny Curtis

Sonny Curtis (born May 9, 1937 in Meadow , Texas ) is an American singer , guitarist and songwriter . He was a member of The Crickets and wrote, played and sang many famous songs, for example I Fought the Law , which has been covered by many bands .

Curtis released three studio albums in the 1960s. Four uncoupling climbed into the Billboard Hot Country Charts , where Atlanta Georgia Stray in 1968 reached 36th place, initially the highest ranking. It was not until the 1980s that more single hits followed in the country charts, including the best-placed track Curtis ', Good Ol' Girls from 1981.

In the early 1990s he wrote the theme song for the television show Evening Shade . Curtis was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1991, five of his songs having been played more than a million times on the radio , according to collecting society BMI . In 2012 Curtis was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame as a member of Crickets .
