The Sophie-cliff is a striking rock cliff of granite at the Danco Coast of Graham lands north of the Antarctic Peninsula . It is located on the east side of the entrance to Piccard Cove , a side bay of Wilhelmina Bay .
Participants in the Belgica expedition (1897–1899) of the Belgian polar explorer Adrien de Gerlache de Gomery mapped it for the first time. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it on September 23, 1960 based on the name of the Sophie Rocks , whose namesake has not been passed down.
