Sophie Kinsella

Sophie Kinsella (actually Madeleine Wickham ; born December 12, 1969 in London ) is a British author.

Life

Kinsella was a business journalist and then began a career writing women's novels. She had her greatest success to date with the “Shopaholic - Die Schnäppchenjägerin” series: As a journalist for a financial magazine, her heroine Rebecca Bloomwood advises others on how to deal with money - and is chronically in debt herself. She ignores credit card statements to the best of her ability, and last-minute reminders sometimes disappear in the rubble container next door. Even after marrying a rich man, Rebecca can't stop shopping.

Other heroines of Kinsellas also repeatedly get into absurd and funny situations from which they can only free themselves through their creativity.

Sophie Kinsella lives with her family in Hertfordshire .
