Sophie Montel (born November 22, 1969 in Montbéliard ) is a French politician . In 2014 she became a Member of the European Parliament for the Front National (FN) . There she was a member of the Budget Committee and the Delegation for relations with Switzerland and Norway, the EU-Iceland Joint Parliamentary Committee and the European Economic Area Joint Parliamentary Committee. In September 2017 she left the FN and took part in the establishment of the FB spin-off Les Patriotes . At the beginning of July 2018, she also resigned from this party after accusing its chairman Florian Philippot of forging signatures.
