Sophienlust (series of novels)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sophienlust , full title Sophienlust, the house of happy children , was a booklet series in the Kelter-Verlag , which can be assigned to the fateful novels .

content

The focus is on a children's home in a castle-like property. The novels are finished and describe the fate of children in this home.

background

The idea for the series came from the author Gerty Schiede under the pseudonym Patricia Vandenberg. A total of 706 novels were published from 1998 to 2012. Different authors wrote for the series: In addition to Patricia Vandenberg, these were u. a. Anne Alexander ( Anita Friedrich ) and Ursula Hellwig.

The series has been reprinted again and again since it was discontinued, and the original edition of the series is also a reprint. The first volume originally appeared in 1970 in the Moewig series Geliebte Mutti under the title Dominik inherits a castle ; "Gert Rothberg" - actually the pseudonym of the entertainment novelist Gertrud Jähne (1889–1948) - was given as the author . Volume 1 of the Sophienlust series was also published in 2014 under the title Dominik inherits a castle , but with the author's name “Patricia Vandenberg”.

reception

Like the series Dr. Norden also made Sophienlust an "outstanding success" in the novel area, which the editors refer to as the "art of conveying 'meaning to life, warmth and security' in a 'clean, orderly world' and understandable language", as well as their predictability and you always brought back a happy ending. Like the equally successful Fürstenkrone series , Sophienlust was regarded as a series of books with an antiquated role model.

Ulrich Reineking made the Sophienlust volume 199 ( The Trace Leads to Frederik ) the central motif of his 2002 column Reading near Pollack .
