OE Erikss. & Winka |
The Sordariomycetidae are a subclass of the sac fungi .
features
The Sordariomycetidae form light to dark perithecia as fruiting bodies. The asci are not amyloid , amyloid or have no apical ring. Some representatives have real paraphyses . In the first description by Eriksson and Winka in 1997, only molecular characteristics were listed, the Sordariales were defined as the holotype.
Systematics
The Sordariomycetidae are the sister group of the Hypocreomycetidae. Hibbett et al. (2007) divide the subclass into the following orders:
- Boliniales
- Calosphaeriales
- Chaetosphaeriales
- Coniochaetales
- Diaporthales
- Ophiostomatales
- Sordariales
Zhang et al. showed in 2006 that both the subclass and the individual orders are monophyletic groups. The Calosphaeriales were not part of this investigation, but they are described by Hibbet et al. placed near the Diaporthales. Zhang et al. established the following cladogram , which also contains some isolated families:
