The Sorenson Glacier is a glacier on the Walgreen Coast of Marie Byrd Land in West Antarctica . On the Bear Peninsula, it flows between the Moore Dome and the Rogers Spur in a westerly direction to the Dotson Ice Shelf .
The United States Geological Survey (USGS) mapped it using its own surveys and aerial photographs of the United States Navy from 1959 to 1967. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him in 1977 Jon E. Sorenson from the USGS, who joined the team in the Antarctic winter of 1975 for satellite geodetic surveys at the Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station .
