Sorhagenia reconditella is a butterfly ( moth ) fromthe Chrysopeleiidae family .

features

The moths reach a wingspan of 8 millimeters. They resemble Sorhagenia rhamniella , but are smaller and the light gray spot on the forewings is indistinct. The hind wings are paler. A reliable differentiation is only possible through a genital examination .

In the males, the uncus is very short. The blades , together with the cucullus, are twice as long as the ampulla. The ampulla is slender and curved in the middle. The saccule is long and slender and almost twice as long as the cucullus. It is slightly widened distally , has a rounded apex and two cusps on the costa. The juxta is short and parallel-walled, the vinculum is wide. The aedeagus is very short. The eighth sternite is square and has rows of bristles that are slightly curved in front of the center.

In females, the distal edge of the ostium is rounded, with a large V-shaped bulge on the inside. The lateral protrusions of the genital plate are short and reduced at the base. They widen distally and have some sclerotized ridges. The antrum is slightly curved in the middle. The ductus bursae is twice as long as it is wide and widens slightly towards the antrum . The corpus bursae is oval, the signa have a curved spine.

Sorhagenia reconditella occurs in Cyprus and mainland Greece.

biology

The biology of the species is unknown. Butterflies were found from mid-May to early June.
