Ionel-Sorin Moisă (born January 7, 1976 in Piatra Neamț ) is a Romanian politician .

Life

Moisă is a graduate of the Bucharest Business Academy . Between 2002 and 2006 he was political advisor to the delegation of the European Commission in Bucharest. He also wrote articles for the Monitorul newspaper network . From 2010 he worked for Dacian Cioloș , EU Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development.

As a member of the Partidul Social Democrat (PSD), Moisă became a member of the European Parliament in 2014 . There he is a member of the Committee on International Trade , the Committee on Constitutional Affairs and the Delegation for Relations with the Countries of Southeast Asia and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

In 2017 Moisă left the PSD. He accused party leader Liviu Dragnea of transforming Romania into an authoritarian state and compared the nationalist tendencies of the PSD with the tendencies in Poland and Hungary.
