Sorrell Booke

Sorrell Booke (born January 4, 1930 in Buffalo , New York , † February 11, 1994 in Sherman Oaks , California ) was an American theater and film actor .

biography

Booke was mainly a theater actor, but still worked in around 100 films and series. He became known to a wide audience, including in Europe, for the role of "Jefferson Davis 'Boss' Hogg" in " A Duke Seldom Comes Alone ". For his appearance in “Dr. Kildare ”, he was nominated for an Emmy in 1964.

Booke studied at Yale and Columbia Universities and was fluent in five languages, including Japanese. This language talent helped him further in the Korean War, as he served as a counterintelligence officer. He once conducted the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra.

Sorrell Booke died of colon cancer on February 11, 1994 .
