Sorriso Maroto is a pagoda band from Rio de Janeiro .

Career

The band was founded in 1997 in Grajaú, a district in the north of Rio de Janeiro. The founder was the singer and pandeiro player Cris, who turned the hobby musician into a professional band. Sorriso Maroto played at music events with Zeca Pagodinho and Beth Carvalho. In 2002 the group had a great success with their first CD “Sorriso Maroto” and became the most played pagoda group in Brazil . The second CD “Por Você” 2003 included more songs of the Samba Romântico style. 70,000 CDs and 50,000 DVDs of the Sinais album were sold. Sorriso Maroto won numerous prizes, including the Prêmio Multishow de Música Brasileira 2010. They sang the title "E Agora Nós?" together with Ivete Sangalo . On August 7, 2010, they gave a concert in front of a million people at Praça Rio Branco in Recife / Pernambuco . Her greatest successes include songs like "É Diferente", "Preciso Viver", "Eu Vacilei", "Ainda Existe Amor Em Nós", "E Agora Nós?", "Amanhã", "Me Espera", "Ainda Gosto de Você "," Adivinha O Quê? " and "Por Você".
