In 1980 in-house production started in Biburg for products such as Rolliboy, tool scissor boxes, small parts magazines and case safes. Ten years later, this resulted in "Sortimo International Equipment Systems for Service Vehicles GmbH", which was renamed "Sortimo International GmbH" in 1990. In 1991 the foundation stone for the plant in Zusmarshausen was laid. The Zusmarshausen production site was founded in 1992 to centralize production there and expand the manufacturing program. To this day, Zusmarshausen is the company headquarters and the only production location of Sortimo International GmbH.
