Sotirios Bretas ( Greek Σωτήρης Μπρέτας , born March 12, 1990 in Volos ) is a Greek cyclist who is active in the short-term disciplines on the track . He also starts as a pilot in paracycling .

Athletic career

Sotirios Bretas has been a track cyclist since 2006. Since then he has won at least 18 national titles (as of 2019). At the UCI Junior World Championships in 2009 , he won silver in the Keirin . From 2012, Bretas was overshadowed by Christos Volikakis at national level , until he decided in 2016 to start in the endurance disciplines on the track. Then Bretas won other Greek championship titles.

At the UCI Paracycling World Championships 2020 , Bretas led his visually impaired compatriot Christos Volikakis as a pilot on the tandem . Together with the Greek team, he won bronze in the mixed team sprint.
