The heavy metal supplement Kerrang appeared for the first time in 1981 ! which became independent as a spin-off and still exists today.

For a long time, the magazine was one of the three most important pop / rock publications in Great Britain, alongside Melody Maker and NME . Some of today's prominent pens such as Gary Bushell and comic artist Alan Moore contributed to the sound . In 1991 the magazine was discontinued due to falling sales.
