Soutelinho da Raia is a place and a former municipality ( freguesia ) in the Portuguese district ( concelho ) of Chaves . The community had 150 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).
On September 29, 2013, the municipalities of Soutelinho da Raia and Calvão were merged to form the new municipality of União das Freguesias de Calvão e Soutelinho da Raia .
geography
The place is located in the Alto Trás-os-Montes region , on the Spanish-Portuguese border in the north of the country. It is 16 km from the southeastern district town of Chaves.
Culture, sports and sights
Among the local monuments are the late Baroque parish church Igreja Paroquial de Soutelinho da Raia (also Igreja de Santo António ) , first built in the 16th century , and the parish fountain Fonte e Tanque da Mina from the 18th century.
The cultural and sports association Centro Cultural e Desportivo de Soutelinho da Raia is a major player in community life . Mountain bike competitions are also held regularly in the community .
