South Arapahoe County

The South Arapahoe County was a county in the state of Colorado , which consisted and 15 November 1902 to the April 11, 1903 then the name of the Arapahoe County has changed.

The Colorado General Assembly voted in 1901 to divide Arapahoe County into three parts: a new merged City and County of Denver , a new Adams County, and the rest of Arapahoe County was renamed South Arapahoe County. A decision by the Colorado Supreme Court was followed by the legislature and held a referendum that delayed the reorganization until November 15, 1902. Governor James Bradley Orman certain Littleton as a temporary county seat ( the county seat ) of South Arapahoe County. On April 11, 1903, the Colorado General Assembly changed the name from South Arapahoe County back to Arapahoe County.
