South Bucks was a district in Buckinghamshire , England , which bordered Greater London to the east . It existed from 1974 to 2020. The administrative seat was Denham ; other important places were Beaconsfield , Burnham , Gerrards Cross and Iver .

The district was formed on April 1, 1974 as Beaconsfield District and was created from the merger of the Urban District Beaconsfield and part of the Rural District Eton. In 1980 it was renamed South Bucks. On April 1, 2020, the district was dissolved and merged with the three other districts of the county to form the Unitary Authority Buckinghamshire .
