The Sow How Tarn is a lake in the Lake District , Cumbria , England .
The lake is west of the Cartmell Fell and Middle Tarn and east of Windermere . The Spannel Beck is a tributary on the southwest side of the Sow How Tarn and its outflow on the southeast side. The lake also has an unnamed tributary on its north side. A boathouse stands on its northeast side.
