history

Established until the post-war period

The FRANKONIA Söllingen football club was founded on October 13, 1906 . Another year later, the Söllingen sports club was founded . Due to the reduced number of players due to the First World War, the clubs then merged in 1920 to form a sports association . After the 1926/27 season, the soccer team became champions and rose to the district league. In 1929, however, the team rose again due to a one-point difference. After the 1934/35 season, the rise in the district league succeeded again. After the outbreak of the Second World War, however, the successful period was stopped by the dwindling number of players. In order to keep the game going, the team even joined forces with Viktoria Berghausen for a short time .

After the end of the war, due to the reinforcement of some older former players for the 1946/47 season, the team even managed to move up to the then second-class regional league North Baden. However, there was no further playful strength to keep up in the league and the team rose again at the end of the season with 11:49 points over the 16th place in the group south. After relegation to the district league, a leading position after the 1947/48 season enabled participation in the newly introduced 2nd amateur league. At the end of the 1940s and the beginning of the 1950s, a leading position within the league was always achieved, but the competitiveness increased over the years due to a lack of young talent. As a result, the team then rose to the A-class after the 1954/55 season. After the 1958/59 season, the promotion could then be retracted. After that, the team belonged to the league for two more seasons.

For a long time in the A-class and district league

After that, the team belonged to the A-Class without interruption from 1961 to 1977. Due to the third place last year, the team even managed to qualify for the then new district league. Due to a strong season, the team only narrowly failed to advance to the 2nd amateur league. Another year later, the team then had to relegate from the district league, but managed to get promoted again directly after the 1980/81 season. After a long membership in this division, the team had to relegate to the district class A after the 1996/97 season. After a one-year break and a complete upheaval within the team, however, a year later the direct rise was achieved.

After several coach changes, after the 1998/99 season the relegation back to the A-class was due again. At the end of the season, only one point separated the team from a non-relegation zone. In the following years there was no recovery. After the 2007/08 season, the team even slipped with 34 points over the 12th place in the district class B. After a second place in the following season then succeeded with the championship title and 75 points after the 2009/10 season, however, the promotion. The team still plays in this league today.
