Ivan Nikolaevich Kuznetsov ( Russian Иван Николаевич Кузнецов ; born May 25 . Jul / 7. June  1909 greg. In Saratov , Russian Empire ; † 23. August 1976 in Moscow ) was a Soviet theater - and film - actor .

Origin and artistic career

Kuznetsov was the son of Lidija Ivanovna Degtjarjowa, from whose husband, an official, Ivan's family name was derived. He never got to know his birth father. After the stepfather's death, Lidija Degtjarjowa worked as a tram conductor .

Kuznetsov entered professional life at the age of 16 and initially worked as a mechanic for an inland shipping company . From 1931 he attended the State Institute of Performing Arts in Leningrad and graduated in 1935. According to his fellow student Georgi Schschonow , he and Kuznetsov were both leaders of a clique during their studies , whose members often aroused displeasure with their behavior.

Following his training, Kuznetsov received an engagement at the Lenfilmstudio , which lasted until 1946. The dark-haired mime gave his first film roles under the direction of his teacher Sergei Gerasimow in Люблю ли тебя? ( Ljublju li tebja?, 1934) and The Seven Bold (1936), in which he gave Sascha Rybnikow his only leading role as a mechanic . Mikhail Romm's Die Dreizehn followed a year later , where Kuznetsov could be seen next to his former fellow student Stepan Ivanovich Krylov. Оборона Царицына ( Oborona Zaritsyna , 1942), in which he appeared in an extra role alongside Stalin actor Micheil Gelowani , was Kuznetsov's last Lenin film production. He was able to leave the enclosed city , in which he also worked in civil defense, in March 1942 for Tashkent and temporarily shot in Central Asia . After the German-Soviet War , he got a job with Mosfilm and appeared in front of the camera until 1974. Until the early 1950s, Kuznetsov played mainly military personnel , after which his spectrum expanded. He was a kolkhoz manager in From the diary of a doctor (1952), a works manager in Freundinnen (1959), a sailor in Northern Novelle (1960) and a slave in In the Kingdom of Magic Mirrors (1963). He also took on a speaking role in the musical comedy Хитрость старого Ашира ( Chitrost starogo Aschira , 1955).

After the end of the war, Kuznetsov also appeared at the State Theater of Film Actors , with which he remained connected until 1970. His work included an adaptation of The Young Guard and a play about Sofja Wassiljewna Kowalewskaja .

On November 26, 1965, he was awarded the title of Honored Artist of the RSFSR .

Private

Kuznetsov was with Anna Fyodorovna Kuznetsova, b. Kotschetkowa (1922–1988), married, who worked as a prop master for Mosfilm . Her son Nikolai, born in 1946, became a driver , daughter Tatjana (* 1949) followed in her mother's footsteps.

Ivan Kuznetsov was considered a humble and very nature-loving person, so he bought a house in the village of Biryukovka near Astrakhan so that he could be near the Volga as often as possible . He was a passionate ice angler and also designed his own sledge, which he used to move with the help of ski sticks.

In 1973 Kuznetsov suffered a stroke while on summer vacation . He was then given a pacemaker in a Moscow clinic , but he remained physically restricted and had to give up his house in Biryukovka. On August 23, 1976, Kuznetsov's pacemaker failed, resulting in immediate death. He was buried in the Wagankowoer cemetery .
