Space Cops - Tatort Demeter City (Original title: Space Precinct ) is a science fiction - television series , in co-production with the United Kingdom and the United States was built between 1994 and 1995 and in syndication aired.

New York police officer Patrick Brogan will be transferred to the police station in Demeter City, capital of the planet Altor, in 2040. For his family, which includes his wife Sally and the children Liz and Matt, this means a major change in their lifestyle. Together with his partner Jack Haldane and the mostly extraterrestrial colleagues of the Tarns and Creons races, he fights against organized crime.
Background information
The series was invented by Gerry Anderson , who made a name for himself with the science fiction series Moon Base Alpha 1 and UFO . He was best known through the puppet series Thunderbirds and Captain Scarlet . He had the idea for this series back in 1986. In that year he produced the previously unsent film Space Police , in which Shane Rimmer played the role of Brogan.
Charisma
Although the series can actually be described as a British production, the series was shown for the first time on television in syndication half a year before its British premiere (from March 1995) in the USA (from October 1994) . In Germany, the series was first broadcast on RTL from April 21, 1996 on every Sunday. Between January 1998 and April 2000 it was repeated several times on RTL II . Since then there have been no further broadcasts.
