Shane Rimmer
Shane Rimmer (born May 28, 1929 in Toronto , Canada , † March 29, 2019 in Potters Bar , England ) was a Canadian actor who became famous for the voice of Scott Tracy in the television series Thunderbirds . He also played supporting roles in numerous film classics such as Out of Africa (1985) or Gandhi (1982). However, his best-known film role was in the James Bond film The Spy Who Loved Me (1977) as Submarine Captain Carter.
Life
Rimmer began his career in 1958 with his first television roles. He made his first feature film appearance in Dr. Strange, or How I Learned to Love the Bomb (1964). He had his breakthrough with the voice of Scott Tracy in the television series Thunderbirds (1965-1966).
The following year he appeared in a James Bond film for the first time: James Bond 007 - You Only Live Twice , but he was not featured in the credits. In 1971 Rimmer was able to play the supporting role of Tom in Diamond Fever and in 1977 he was given a larger role with the role of submarine captain Carter in The Spy Who Loved Me .
Rimmer's career has been determined by numerous supporting roles in famous films. He also appeared in leading roles in individual episodes of well-known television series.
Rimmer was married and had three sons. He lived in Hertfordshire and published his autobiography in 2003.
