Caprona - The Forgotten Land

Caprona 2nd part (original title: The People that Time Forgot ) is a British feature film from 1977. The film is a sequel to Caprona - The Forgotten Land and is based on the novel The People That Time Forgot by Tarzan inventor Edgar Rice Burroughs .

action

An expedition ship is on its way to Caprona to look for Tyler who was stranded there. Participants include scientist Norfolk and photographer Charlotte. With Ben McBride, the leader of the expedition, and a pilot, they fly from the ship to the island, where they have to make an emergency landing because of the encounter with a pterodactyl .

After an encounter with a stegosaur , you set out for the interior of the island. There the expedition meets the prehistoric woman Ajor. It turns out she knows Tyler, who also taught her human language. Ahor's Galu tribe welcomed Tyler and his companion, Lisa, and taught them various skills. Because of this, they were attacked by the rival Na-gas tribe. The Na-gas, who sacrificed their prisoners to their volcanic god Nagoromata, killed most of the Galu.

On the way to the Na-gas, the group fends off an attack by the Band-Lu. One of the band-lu reports shortly before his death that Tyler is on the mountain of the skulls. After the group has escaped a sacrifice by the Band-lu, they are already received by the Na-gas. Their chief Sabbala arranges for Charlotte and Ahor to sacrifice to Nagoromata. Meanwhile, Ben and Norfolk meet Tyler in their dungeon, who tells them about Lisa's sacrifice to the volcano god.

The men attempt to break out and prevent Ajor and Charlotte's sacrifice. During their escape, the group has to be careful of the erupting volcano, past a herd of dinosaurs and an ankylosaurus and is pursued by the Na-gas. Tyler is killed during the escape, but the rest of the group reaches the rescue plane that takes them to the ship.

Reviews

"Naive science fiction film that only partially reaches the fantasy of the literary model and the technical quality of its predecessor" Caprona - The Forgotten Land "."

"Anyone who appreciates ghost train effects as the ultimate in horror art will also admire this childlike, harmless film ... Naive, colorful horror picture sheet, more tiring than exciting."

- Heribert Hopf , FILMBEOBACHTER , quoted in Lexicon of Science Fiction Films , p. 71
