Patrick John Morrison (born July 15, 1939 in Los Angeles , California ) is an American film and television actor .

life and career

Patrick Wayne is the son of actor John Wayne and his first wife Josephine Alicia Saenz. He starred alongside his famous father in a total of eleven films, starting with a small role in Rio Grande in 1950. For his performance as "Lieutenant Greenhill" in John Ford's western classic The Black Falcon (1956), in which he was at the side played by his father, Patrick Wayne received the Golden Globe Award for Best Young Actor . In addition to working at his father's side, he has appeared in various American films such as The Man from the Great River , Nina's Alibi and Young Guns .

He was originally intended for the role of " Superman " in the film version Superman - The Film (1978), but he turned it down. In 2003, Patrick Wayne became chairman of the John Wayne Cancer Institute .
