action

1843 in Texas. The Texas Ranger Jake Cutter arrests the under suspicion of murder player Paul Regret. Regret escapes on the way to the ranger station. Cutter gets into a conflict with the Comancheros , unscrupulous white outlaws who deliver weapons and alcohol to the Indians. background

Veteran director Michael Curtiz was seriously ill with cancer a few months before his death while filming. So John Wayne took over the director's chair on a few days that Curtiz was too sick. But he declined to be mentioned in the opening credits for his directorial work.

The film was released in theaters in the Federal Republic of Germany on December 22, 1961, and it was first broadcast on television on October 25, 1975 on ARD .
