Gold Smuggling to Virginia is a 1940s American western .

action

The film is set towards the end of the American Civil War . The Army of the Confederacy is close to collapse. You desperately need more financial support to keep the fight going. Supporters of the Confederacy from Nevada have gold worth 5 million $ collected, but have no way the gold from Virginia City to bring out. Dancer Julia Hayne seeks help from prison commander Vance Irby, who runs a notorious prisoner of war camp . In prison , Union officer Kerry Bradford learns of the planned gold transport. Together with his friends Marblehead and Olaf Swenson, he is determined to stop the transport. On the trip to Virginia City, Kerry meets Julia Hayne. The two fall in love. However, Julia also needs to realize that she and Kerry have different goals. Vance Irby demands that Julia help him in order to lure Kerry Bradford into a trap. She has to decide whether love for a man is more important to her than love for her homeland. She chooses her home and Kerry has to accompany the gold transport as a prisoner. However, on the long way, Kerry escapes. While on the run, he falls off a cliff and is believed to be dead. However, he survived and can ask the Union troops for support.

The trek moves on in the meantime, is plagued by water shortages and eventually ambushed by John Murrell and his gang. Kerry arrives in time to protect the trek. Vance is mortally wounded in the fight. In a death throes he wrestles from Kerry a promise to use the gold for the reconstruction of the south. Kerry buries the gold and in a second attack by Murrell's men, the Union troops finally come to decisive aid. Kerry now refuses to surrender the gold to the Union in order to keep his promise. Now Kerry is imprisoned by Union forces and sentenced to death . Julia finally fights for grace from President Abraham Lincoln and the lovers are reunited.
