Detective agency Blunt (original title Agatha Christie's Partners in Crime ) is a British television series based on the short stories by Agatha Christie with Tommy and Tuppence Beresford from the collection The Pandora's Box (original title Partners in Crime ). The leading roles are played by James Warwick and Francesca Annis . The first broadcast of the series was from 1983 to 1984. The German first broadcast was from May to August 1986 on Südwest-Fernsehen .
The series follows the adventures of the Beresfords, who have taken over a detective agency in London, and each episode is a film adaptation of one of the book's short stories. The film adaptations adhere closely to the specifications of the book. However, the parodies of detective stories from the time the book was written, the 1920s, are not included, because with a few exceptions (the character of Sherlock Holmes and the crime novels by Edgar Wallace ) these are almost forgotten today.
The search for the agent who was number 16 and the stories about the blue Russian letters were also omitted, so the stories The Adventure of the Dark Stranger , Blind Cow and The Man of Number 16 Was Not adapted.
The show's cameramen were Mike Humphreys, Tony Mander and Tim Piper, while Ray Helm, Ray Weedon and Clifford West were responsible for editing.
content
Thomas "Tommy" Beresford and Prudence "Tuppence" Cowley, ex-soldier and former nurse, are looking for a new job. By chance they get caught up in a political affair. Then they decide to set up their own detective agency under the name "Blunt". Tommy calls himself Mr. Blunt and has an assistant named Albert. They solve their cases with wit, charm and tricky detailed work. They are assisted in their work by Scotland Yard's Inspector Marriott, who often leaves the cases to Tuppence and Tommy, believing they are better off than his agency. Over the course of the series, Tuppence and Tommy get married.
