Tony Wharmby

Philip Anthony Wharmby (born November 1, 1940 in the United Kingdom ) is a British television director and producer who worked in London from 1968 to 1986 and then continued his career in the United States . In the US alone he has directed over 140 hours of fictional series entertainment. He is best known for his longstanding work as a director on the crime series Navy CIS .

life and work

Wharmby worked as a television director and producer in England from 1968 to 1986. He then moved to Los Angeles and continued his career in the film industry there.

Wharmby has also shown directing work on the television series JAG - On behalf of the honor , Navy CIS , OC, California , Bones - The Bone Hunter , Providence , Coronation Street , High Sierra Search and Rescue , The X-Files - The FBI's Scary Cases , Coins in the Fountain , New Scotland Yard , Gossip Girl , Supernatural and Crossing Jordan - pathologist with profile .

As a producer, his participation in the X-Files and Dempsey & Makepeace should be mentioned. As an executive producer or co-producer, he was involved in Enemy at the Door and Bones . He has also worked as a producer in dozens of other television series and films. Since 2011 Tony Wharmby has been responsible for the opening and closing episodes as director at Navy CIS in seasons 9 to 16.

He is the father-in-law of British film composer Debbie Wiseman . She has been married to his son Tony Wharmby Jr. since 1987.
