Spanish TT
The Spanish TT ( Spanish Tourist Trophy ) was an international motorcycle race that was held four times between 1932 and 1935.
The record winner was the exceptional Scottish driver Jimmie Guthrie . The Norton factory driver was able to win in the races of the classes up to 350 and up to 500 cm³ from 1933 to 1935 and thus achieved six victories.
history
In 1932, the organized motorcycle club of Bizkaia ( Peña Motorista Vizcaya ) for the first time the Spanish TT, which quickly became the main Spanish motorcycle racing of that era. The first two editions were held on a 9.05 km long slope in Castrejana, a district of Bilbao .
In 1934 and 1935, the events spanned a whole week through many different framework races, including the Bilbao Grand Prix . The races now took place on the Circuito de las avenidas de Ensanche in the center of Bilbao. This had a length of 3.160 km in the first and 2.107 km in the second year.
From 1936, the Spanish TT was no longer held because of the Spanish Civil War and the subsequent Second World War .
