The Sparkasse HagenHerdecke is a public-law savings bank based in Hagen in North Rhine-Westphalia . It was created on August 31, 2016 from the merger of Sparkasse Hagen and Stadtsparkasse Herdecke . Your business area is mainly the cities of Hagen and Herdecke , the latter in the Ennepe-Ruhr district . The Sparkasse is run by the Sparkassenzweckverband der Stadt Hagen and Herdecke .

Social Commitment

The company is involved in its field of activity through the Sparkassenstiftung für Hagen and other projects. Up until the end of 2016, the foundation had supported various charitable projects with over 1.3 million euros.

history

The company began its business operations on October 1st, 1841. In 1912 the first main office building was built in Hagen. Sparkasse Hagen has been a member of the central giro association since 1916 and offers cashless payment transactions. After the Second World War , the company moved to the former townhouse 1 in 1952 , where the headquarters have been since then. In 1968 the first ATM was put into operation. At the beginning of the 21st century, the previous buildings, including the high-rise Langer Oskar built in 1972-75, were demolished in 2004 and a new building was erected in 2006, which in 2007 received the award "Office of the Year". Sparkasse Hagen and Stadtsparkasse Herdecke merged on August 31, 2016 to form Sparkasse Hagen-Herdecke .

The town house 1 housed several offices in Hagen, such as the health department, social welfare office, youth welfare office, etc. In addition, the old savings bank headquarters and the city library were located there. This building was built in 1951 and was owned by Sparkasse Hagen. The official address of the Sparkasse: Körnerstraße 22.

Due to the expansion of the Sparkasse, the Langer Oskar skyscraper was built from the summer of 1972 and completed in November 1975. The town house itself remained basically untouched until it was demolished, apart from a few renovations in the 1970s and 1980s.

At the beginning of 2002 it was decided to demolish the complex and the new Sparkassen-Karree model was presented. The Langer Oskar high-rise building in need of renovation was blown up on March 7, 2004, which also attracted national attention.

In addition to town house 1 and the “ Langer Oskar ” high-rise building , there were two adjoining buildings painted white. The addresses of these buildings were: Grashofstr. 47 and Körnerstr. 34.

Sparkassen-Karree (since 2006)

In July 2004, construction began on the Sparkassen-Karree, which opened in June 2006. In addition to the Sparkasse headquarters, the square also includes restaurants and shops.

Logos

As a result of the extensive renovation of the headquarters in 1973, the name was changed from "Sparkasse der Stadt Hagen" to "Sparkasse Hagen". Then there was the new logo.
