The Sparkasse Kremstal-Pyhrn was an Upper Austrian savings bank based in Kirchdorf an der Krems . According to the commercial register, Sparkasse Kremstal has been merged with Sparkasse Oberösterreich since July 13, 2013 , which has taken over all bank branches and most of the employees. The installation of the new bank code and account numbers required by the merger was completed by September 2013.

history

As early as the end of June 1853, a letter sent by the then Imperial and Royal District Chairman Franz Schützenberger to Mayor Adolf Mayrhofer should encourage the establishment of a savings bank, but the economic situation in the community did not allow this. This idea was taken up again in 1864, at the end of November the expanded municipal council passed a decision in principle to found a savings bank, which was confirmed at a meeting of the citizens of the market municipality in mid-April 1866. At the end of April and mid-May 1867, the authority approved both the assumption of liability by the community and the establishment, and at the end of July the approval for the statutes came. The Sparkasse Committee was constituted in mid-September, but it was not until the beginning of May 1868 that the Sparkasse was able to go about its business.

In 1980 the savings banks in Kirchdorf an der Krems, Windischgarsten and Kremsmünster merged and renamed themselves Sparkasse Kremstal-Pyhrn in 1985 . In 1991 the contribution of the business into a limited company , with 24.05% of the shares in GiroCredit (from 1997 Erste Bank) and 5.95% of the General Savings Bank were sold in Linz. The share management savings bank, which was converted into a private foundation in 2001, held 70% of the shares .

Board director Hauer first confirmed media reports on a possible merger of Sparkasse Kremstal-Pyhrn with Allgemeine Sparkasse Oberösterreich in January 2013. On February 6, 2013, the merger of Sparkasse OÖ and Sparkasse Kremstal-Pyhrn was officially registered with the federal competition authority.

Structural development of the main institute

Until 1880 the Sparkasse was open in the Kirchdorf 144 building. Use was free of charge for the first six years. Because by this time the premises had long since become too small, a rental agreement for a new restaurant in the newly built town hall was negotiated with the municipality. The daily traffic introduced in 1895 brought a great increase in business, so in 1916 it had to be rebuilt and expanded. In 1925 a new building was to be built, but the Sparkasse bought the Kirchdorf 116 building instead. A new building could not be started until 1953, in the same year, on November 18, 1953, the new Sparkasse building was inaugurated and opened. The renovation and furnishing costs totaled around 650,000 schillings. The house was built by the Sparkasse in 1886/1887 as a “small children's custody facility”, was confiscated by the NSDAP in 1939 and, after the end of World War II, served the American occupying forces as an office building until the beginning of October 1951.

Non-profit

In accordance with Section 22 of the Savings Bank Act, the Sparkasse Kremstal-Pyhrn has donated considerable sums to the municipalities of Kirchdorf and Bad Hall as well as to the municipalities of Kremsmünster and Windischgarsten every year since it was founded . Without this support, the municipalities would often not have been able to realize significant projects.
