The Sparkasse Neunkirchen is a Lower Austrian banking company based in Neunkirchen and part of the savings bank group in Austria . It was created as a club savings bank. The Sparkasse is a member of the cooperation and liability association of the Austrian savings banks and the Austrian savings bank association .

Founding history

Before 1870, the merchant JB Pöltl brokered financial transactions between Neunkirchen customers and the First Austrian Spar-Casse. The first plans to found their own savings bank existed as early as 1858, but it was not until 1870 that an association was established that issued a call for subscribing to the start-up capital. In November 1870 the statutes were approved, so that on May 4, 1871 the opening of the savings bank and the start of business took place.

Structural development of the main institute

The original Sparkassenlokal (1871-1891) was a spacious room on the first floor of an inn on Neunkirchen's main square. In the following years the premises were expanded again and again. In 1889, the Sparkasse bought the area of the Lamplwirtshaus next to the town hall , which had been destroyed by fire, and built a new Sparkasse building on this square. This was opened on May 15, 1891 and gradually expanded. During the war days of 1945, the savings bank building was destroyed and then rebuilt by 1947 and modernized and adapted in 1974 and 2000, among other things. In addition, the Sparkasse bought a building complex from the municipality of Neunkirchen.
