The Spaulding Pond is a meltwater pond in Taylor Valley of the East Antarctic Victoria Land . It is located 500 m northeast of the ice cliffs at the mouth of the Howard Glacier .

It got its name at the suggestion of the American hydrologist Diane Marie McKnight, head of the team of the United States Geological Survey , which examined the river system of Lake Fryxell in the Taylor Valley between 1987 and 1994 . It is named after the hydrologist Sarah Ann Spaulding, who was involved in investigations of this pool from 1988 to 1989 and from 1991 to 1992.
