The Spert Arch is a 100 m long and 20 m high surf gate . It is located on the southwest of Spert Island in the West Antarctic Palmer Archipelago .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 2012 based on the island of the same name. It is named after Thomas Spert († 1541), captain of the Mary Rose , the flagship of King Henry VIII , and the first Master of the Mariners of England .
