Spetsnaz is a Swedish EBM band from Örebro . The band has named itself after the Russian special unit Speznas . Spetsnaz was inspired by the pioneers of EBM: Nitzer Ebb , Front 242 , Die Krupps and DAF .

In November 2006, the duo canceled the ongoing tour with And One . The press reported about their breakup due to differences within the band. But just a day later, their record company announced that there were negotiations about the band's resumption, but that Nilsson would also continue solo. The reunification happened for an appearance with DAF , which resulted in the album Deadpan .
