Spialia phlomidis is a butterfly from the family of the thick-headed butterflies (Hesperiidae).
features
The fore wing length is 14 to 15 millimeters. The wings are colored black-brown on the upper side and have strongly contrasting white spots. The front edge of the forewings is light ocher. On the hind wings there is a large rectangular discoid spot and a larger submarginal spot in cell four. The underside of the hind wings is light olive gray with well-developed white spots. There is a long white spot on the front edge. Both sexes have the same wing markings.

Occurrence
The species is distributed in the southern Balkans, Greece, Turkey, northern Israel, Lebanon, Syria, northern Iran and southern Russia to Transcaucasia. It occurs only rarely and sporadically and inhabits dry and temperature-favored, mostly rocky areas and dry grassland with low shrub growth at altitudes between 650 and 1650 meters, but mostly below 1000 meters. Basic soils are preferred.
Way of life
Spialia phlomidis flies in one generation from late May to June. As a food plant of the caterpillars are from Greece winds ( Convolvulus known), in Lebanon the way to be Convolvulus libanoticus proven.
