Spiegelberg (Ministerial)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Ministerials von Spiegelberg were a noble family, which presumably descended from the Thurgau barons von Spiegelberg .

Guntram († before 1268) was Ministeriale of Reichenau Monastery and is documented as a witness between 1256 and 1263 when changes of hands were made. Heinrich, also a witness in 1334, was probably Guntram's grandson. Heinrich's sons, Heinrich and Walter, inherited the castle from their grandfather Heinrich Meier von Wellenberg in 1349 . Since they became impoverished, the brothers sold farm by farm until they were last mentioned in 1364. In 1364 Walter sold Wellenberg to the ministerial offices of Strass for 100 silver marks . His sons Hans and Guntram († 1375/76) were not more successful; The latter sold a farm near Harenwilen in 1374 .
