Herner gaming madness
The Herner Spielewahnsinn is an annual festival for board games in Herne . The game festival is open to all visitors, the exhibitors are primarily game publishers. The specialty is the possibility to test the games in detail, similar to the international game days in Essen .
The first game madness took place at the end of 1987 in what was then the youth center and today's game center in Herne . Since 1991 it has taken place once a year in May in the Herner Kulturzentrum on Willi-Pohlmann-Platz. The event has around 4,000 to 5,000 visitors each year. Since 1990, the final round of the German team championship in the board game has been held during Spielewahnsinns .
